This mesmerizing Moon Snap was among the winners of a mountaineering photo contest

Four silhouettes are captured in a huge full moon, descending the mountain. It’s a wee bit scary, a bit comical, and utterly gripping all at once – not to mention phenomenally timing.
Taken by Yhabril Moro in the Spanish Pyrenees, this shot is one of 20 winners of the 2022 CVCEPhoto awards, a competition organized by Club Vasco de Camping Elkartea, a mountaineering club based in San Sebastián, Spain. The idea of the contest is to use photography to promote mountain activities, from free climbing and skiing to kayaking and mountain biking.
