This 3.7-mile hiking trail in Utah takes you through a slot canyon

There are some pretty incredible slot canyons in Utah, like the magnificent Zion Narrows. However, many of these trails require some hiking experience and technical equipment to get you through the canyons safely and easily. Luckily, the Wire Pass Trail, located near the Utah-Arizona border, is an easy trail that even families can enjoy. This hiking trail will take you through Wire Pass to Buckskin Gulch, one of Utah’s most beautiful slot canyons.

In these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list at a later date.

As with all slot canyons, this hike should only be done in good weather. If it has rained or there is a chance of rain, do not attempt this trail as the slightest bit of rain can get very treacherous. Also, be on the lookout for different types of wildlife on the trail, including rattlesnakes.

Dogs are allowed on this Utah hiking trail, but they may need assistance in some areas, such as on the ladder. Permits are also required for daytime use and can be purchased in advance or at the trailhead. For more information on this hike, directions to the trailhead, required permits, and more, visit the Utah Tourism Board website.
