The mountaineering club team reaches the top of the Wajir Pinnacle
The Wajir Pinnacle is considered one of the toughest climbs in the country

A team of mountaineers from the mountaineering club, Giripremi, reached the summit of the 250-foot-high Wajir Pinnacle located in the Mahuli region of Thane district in Sahyadris.
Wajir, a high peak made of basalt, rises vertically at 90 degrees. The climbing route drops into rough slopes and a handful of climbers might manage to negotiate Wajir’s challenge in the past.
Pawan Hadole of Giripremi, Varun Bhagwat and Rohan Desai reached the summit on Sunday.
The climb was assisted by Ashish Mane and Nikunj Shah. Climbers took 4 hours to complete over 200 feet of ascent on one of the toughest climbing routes in the country.
Wajir is located near Mahuli Fort which houses several vertical pinnacles.
âClimbing on Wajir is a climber’s dream, because the rocky areas have the highest level challenges. Giripremi’s new generation of mountaineers as well as seasoned activists calmly overcome the challenges to reach the top, âsaid a statement.
