Summit Endurance Academy to start free pre-season ski mountaineering clinics next week

The ski mountaineering season is back in full swing for the Summit Endurance Academy next week as the SEA holds its first dry-field training on Tuesday, September 24, from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. at the Beaver Run parking lot in Breckenridge.

The Summit Endurance Academy will hold another dry-field training session the following Tuesday at the same time and location. Dry zone training will also take place at Beaver Run on Friday October 11 (6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.), Sunday October 20 (9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.), Tuesday October 22 (6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.), Tuesday October 29 (6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.), Friday November 8 (6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.), Sunday November 17 (6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.) and Tuesday November 19 (6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.). Participants in dry terrain training sessions are encouraged to bring skimo poles, running clothes and water.

SEA will organize its Youth Skimo Info Night at the Frisco Nordic Center on Monday October 7 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm A few nights later, SEA will organize its first Intro to Skimo / Gear party at Wilderness Sports in Dillon on Wednesday October 9, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., SEA will host the same event a week later, at Mountain Outfitters in Breckenridge, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

That same evening, Wednesday, October 16, the Frisco Nordic Center is scheduled to host the Summit Skimo Kickoff, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

SEA has scheduled skimo transition clinics on Wednesday October 30, Wednesday November 6 and Wednesday November 20, each scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at an unspecified location.
