Nike’s beloved ACG line has indeed set in motion a series of modern tributes, these in-line versions often faithful in their recreation of the signature outdoor palette. And now, after obvious nods to the Nike Hike Man, the brand chooses to celebrate the adjacent activities by transforming the Air Max 97 into a silhouette worthy of climbing.
Compared to the above primarily in color, the pair creates a rugged appearance via high-end constructions and a relatively understated overall colourway. Thick line in olive suede below the mudguard, accentuated just above by a thin layer of dark blue leather. Then the foundation contrasts entirely in its black ballistic mesh, which serves as a neutral base for the muted Volt accents that take the form of tongue and heel pulls as well as embroidered Swooshes. Underfoot, the sole is tinted with dark gray, speckled with numerous splashes of black like the old ACG staples.
Take a detailed look at those here and expect a release on Nike.com probably in the coming months.
In other news, a brilliant Red Dunk Low Disrupt is on the way.
